Missing Mom

Ten years ago today my mother died. She bravely fought a six year battle and lost her life to Breast Cancer. She has been missed so badly by so many people. We all move on and remember her in our own ways. Sometimes the ten years seems like an eternity other times it seems like a moment. Her loss is a deep crevasse in my heart.

Memoriam in Today's paper. I think I wrote the verse for her first anniversary it's fitting to see it again on her 10th.

I'm thinking most of my sister today. She and my mom were two of a kind. Thankfully, I have her to remind me of our mom.

As Christmas approaches please remember to give in any way you can to the charities benefiting the research of cancer treatments. Some day there will be a cure.

Cotton

Second Wedding Anniversary

They say you give the gift of cotton for a second wedding anniversary. I bought Steve a very romantic card about his snoring, then I wrote inside about the cotton I would be placing in my ears to dull the snoring. He said "HAR- HAR" just like that too, all sarcastic, then made a beautiful dinner for us by the fire. Steak and shrimp on the grill and snow crab legs with salad. DELICIOUS! I just love our dinners together especially when he cooks!

I decided to put on my wedding dress . I only got to wear it once, you know, and last year I was too fat with baby pea in the pot....tadaaaaaaaa.

I love it just as much as the day I chose it and altered the snot out of it to make it ME.

Happy Anniversary Steve.
I love you more today than I did the day we were married and that's a LOT!

Happy Anniversary Baby P

Today marks one year since I peed on a stick and found out we were expecting a baby. I was shocked despite our efforts for the positive results. I was terrified of the changes a baby would make to our lives. I was terrified I would suck as a mother. I was just plain terrified. And then she arrived healthy and whole. We brought her home put her to bed beside us, we all went peacefully to sleep like she had always been right there with us. In the mornings we stared at her little perfect person and smiled at one another. "We made her."

I was no longer terrified. I no longer questioned what impact she would have on our lives and if I would be a good mother. We were a family.

Although, it is all new, our lives are just how they are supposed to be. Neither Steve or I would want to have it any other way. We love our little Finley Mae.

Today is my mother's 62nd birthday.
Her candles were permanently blown out at the early age of 54. I think it's the first August 4th to roll around that I didn't wake up sad. New life and new memories have a really good way of turning feelings around. Happy Birthday Mom - where ever you are.
